LIFTS TEAMS UP WITH SHAUN MURPHY,
2005 WORLD PROFESSIONAL SNOOKER CHAMPION |
GB Lifts, the UK’s leading independent supplier of lifts, have
agreed a personal sponsorship deal with 2005 World Professional Snooker
Champion, and current World No.2 player, Shaun Murphy. The agreement will
see Shaun, nicknamed ‘The Magician’, wear the GB Lifts branding
on his waistcoats during tournament play and co-host a number of events
on behalf of the company throughout the coming year.
As GB Lifts’ Managing Director Jim Simpson explains, the partnership
came about purely by chance. “I was in Perkins
Restaurant in Keyworth and Shaun was in the adjacent booth to having
lunch with his representatives from Champions (UK) PLC. I happened to
overhear their group discussing sponsorship opportunities and grabbed
the opportunity to make an approach.”
As a proven winner, with a fantastic record of dedication and success,
Shaun’s profile and approach to his professional and personal life
fits perfectly with the GB Lifts ethos. But, as Jim Simpson confirms,
there is more to this partnership than association with Shaun’s
snooker achievements. “Shaun brings much more to the party than
his winning mentality, vital though that is. What is so appealing about
Shaun is his genuine warmth of personality and selflessness. His commitment
to others and generosity of spirit is an inspiration to all who follow
and support his success on the snooker table.”
Commenting on his partnership with the Nottinghamshire company, Shaun
added, “From my first meeting with Jim, I knew I would be happy
to work with him and GB Lifts. The company prides itself on the highest
possible standards of professionalism, never settling for second best
when going that extra mile can improve performance. This is the way I
live my life and play my snooker. In my eyes, to be associated with a
company that specialises in ‘taking people to the very top’
is a perfect match..!”
At the time of writing, Shaun (and GB Lifts) can be seen on BBC2 contesting
the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Aberdeen from where he heads to
The Waterfront Hall in Belfast for the Northern Ireland Trophy (November
4th to 11th).

LIFTS FORMS WINNING DOUBLES PARTNERSHIP
WITH BADMINTON STAR NATHAN ROBERTSON,
2006 WORLD CHAMPION AND OLYMPIC SILVER MEDALLIST |
GB Lifts, the UK’s leading independent supplier
of lifts, have agreed a personal sponsorship deal with 2006 World Badminton
Champion and 2004 Olympic Silver Medallist, Nathan Robertson. The agreement
sees Nathan wearing the GB Lifts branding on his playing and training
kit and co-hosting a number of events on behalf of the company throughout
the coming year.
Nottingham born Nathan leapt onto the national public radar in 2004 when,
in partnership with Gail Emms, he won the Mixed Doubles silver medal at
the Athens Olympic Games. GB Lifts Managing Director Jim Simpson is delighted
to be working with such a distinguished champion. “Nathan is a true
sports ‘personality’ and his achievements are phenomenal.
Badminton is a huge participation sport and Nathan is a fantastic ambassador
and example to youngsters, having started playing at six years old and
represented his country with great distinction over 80 times. We are delighted
that a sportsman who does so much to lift Great Britain has chosen to
partner with GB Lifts.”
In an international career that to date spans 12 years, Nathan has collected
several cabinets full of medals, including numerous National, European,
Commonwealth, Olympic and world titles as both a singles and doubles player.
In 2006, he and Gail Emms won the World Mixed Doubles Championship in
Madrid and he has enjoyed No.1 world ranking as a doubles player and No.4
world ranking in Men’s Singles play.
Commenting on his partnership with GB Lifts, Nathan says, “It
takes immense dedication to transfer ability into results and reach the
top. My own career is all about such levels of commitment to success and
it is a philosophy I see reflected in the achievements of Jim and his
team. Like GB Lifts, it took me 20 years of hard work to achieve overnight
success and I am pleased to be associated with a like-minded organisation.”
